as i was whining about recently (oh, you didn’t catch that? i. so. totally. was. forgive me.), Jared and I have been working a lot. we took this friday and saturday off to go spend a night at (lower) savage lake.
despite getting swallowed whole by mosquitoes, highlights included throwing flies around (Jared caught a big brookie saturday am, but with kobuk’s help it was released before it could be photographed. that kobuk. he’s a helper), keeping the fire going in the rain, jared catching some great shots during golden light, that familiar and sweet ache from my hip belt, and the simple calm of being outside and unplugged. color me grateful.
