in the middle

In the middle of the wild swirl of the last few weeks, there have been beautiful moments.  IMG_0895 IMG_0897IMG_0899 IMG_0906 IMG_0905 IMG_0907 so flaky and delicious our regular market breakfast!

1) “The Columbian friends” visited–best way to start April.

2) First fire of the season.

3) First and third Saturdays of the month peddling cheese at the market with “my cheese friend”.  It’s a tasty day.

4)  Yesterday was like Christmas.  This morning was delicious in my coffee cup.

5) Craiglist, you’ve been good to me this week.  Thanks for taking my lockers and dresser off my hands.  It sort of felt like selling my project babies: I hope you have a long life together!

6)  A bittersweet trip to Michigan to celebrate Ryan.  {poke around their blog–well worth your time!}  Tears are best shed while sharing a kleenex box with friends.

It’s the practice of believing that we really do need both the bitter and the sweet, and that a life of nothing but sweetness rots both your teeth and your soul. Bitter is what makes us strong, what forces us to push through, what helps us earn the lines on our faces and the calluses on our hands. Sweet is nice enough, but bittersweet is beautiful, nuanced, full of depth and complexity.  –Shauna Niequist
