Ah yes, the same old, same old.
The push through the end of February and first day of March meant Jared and I were doing the FAFSA and finishing school applications. I owe Deborah great thanks as I agonized over every comma, each word, and the logic behind the arguments constructed in various examination essays. We’re so very very glad that the application process is done. Phhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew.
And now we wait. The mail gets delivered twice a day to the office (that’s right. because we’re that awesome). And we check it. Often.
I am now working on a large project that I will be excited to share with you when it’s ready. Okay, fine. I’ll give you a hint. Because I like you all that much. One word: (one word: etsy). Coming soon!
Yesterday, as I perused the dining hall for yummy lunch items I found this odd dessert. I had never seen something like this before, but because there was so much chocolate involved I thought I would take the plunge, suspecting that I was about to experience something cultural. And I was right.
Basically, it’s a cake sandwich. Though it looks like a cookie sandwich (which implies somewhat crunchy bookends), the chocolate bookends are very soft and often very large. Mine was gigantic. It took my all afternoon to eat it. And it had delightful chocolate filling.
This is a New England cultural dessert that we will just have to endure. Pity us, if you feel the need.
